Thank you to all of our entrants.  We had the chance to look at some great photography.  Some of you might still see your photgraph on our website, in the program or on some of our marketing materials.

Tournament of Images Cutoff

This Friday is the deadline for us to receive entries for the Tournament of Images Photo contest.  If you haven't sent your entry in yet you had better send it overnight.  We have gotten some great photos so far and would hate to miss yours.

Scarborough Gnome

The Scarborough gnome has visited us this year.  Click on the Scarborough YouTube link at the bottom of our homepage to see his visit with the German Brothers.  We will post more of his adventures as the summer progresses.  Check back every now and then.

And if you have any Scarborough videos, feel free to post them on the Scarborough YouTube Channel.  As the Germans would say, "peace out!"

Thanks to all of our guests!

We would like to thank all of our guests for a wonderful 2010 season.  Our weather was wonderful (if a little hot the last two weekends) and smiles were everywhere.  We began planning for next season this week and we will let you know how it is going from time to time right here on Ye Olde Scarborough Blogge

This fall we will once again transform the Crown Meadow into Screams Halloween Theme Park.  We will be open Fridays and Saturdays October 1 through the October 30 from 7:30 pm to 1:30 am.  Our final night will be Halloween, October 31 from 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm.  Come see us for a good scare.

Last weekend of Scarborough Renaissance Festival

Memorial Day Weeekend is our last weekend.  We will be open on Saturday, Sunday and Memorial Day Monday.  If you haven't been able to join us this year, we hope that you will make it out this weekend.

One special feature of the weekend is our annual Memorial Day Parade.  All veterans are invited to don a yellow sash, which we supply, to denote their service and march in our midday parade.  We are hoping for a record number of veterans in our parade this year.  Please join us and help us break the record!

It is also time for Owain Phyfe's annual visit. A true Renaissance troubador, Owain will be performing at the Sea Hag Stage at 12:30 and 3:00 pm and at other locations throughout the day.

Pirate Weekend

Yo ho ho me hearties, 'tis time to grab your best eye patch and sharpest clothes and wade ashore for Pirate Weekend. This annual event has become a favorite of our guests. Add words and phrases to your speech like:
Yar - A gutteral exclamation that can mean almost anything from "let's figt" to "look at the pretty lass".
Avast ye - Stop and check this out
Shiver Me Timbers - What on earth is that?

Remeber that Scarborough is a seaport, so it's only natural to have some pirates and privateers roaming around.  Come on out this weekend and be one of them.

Chivalry Weekend

This weekend we celebrate chivalry. Chivalry is generally considered to be courtesy towards others, particularly women.  Scarborough Renaissance Festival® is celebrating all things chivalrous this weekend as befits a 16th Century English Village during the reign of  King Henry VIII. They are inviting everyone to escape from the stresses and problems of everyday life and, just for the weekend, enter a world of  polite and gentle behavior; a simple smile, a polite nod or bow, a letting go of 21st century stresses, being kinder that necessary and receiving kindness in return.  That is the theme of Chivalry Weekend.  Come join us and return to a simpler time as you pass through the gates of Scarborough Village.

Doktor Kaboom and Magical Mystical Michael

This weekend Doktor Kaboom returns to the Catnterbury Stage and Magical Mystical Michael returns to the Brother's Stage.  Doktor Kaboom is always a family favorite with his mixture of science and humor.  Everyone will have an explosively good time.

Magical Mystical Michael, a favorite of Renaissance Festival audiences across the country, will baffle you with his illusions and leave your sides hurting from laughter.

Renaissance Romance Weekend

This weekend is our annual Renaissance Romance Weekend.  Mother's Day is on Sunday and we will have group vow renewals on both Saturday and Sunday at Noon in the Wedding Garden. The Cat and Fiddle Wine Tasting features the wines of Italy this week.

FYI - There has bee quite a bit of rain in the Metroplex but not in our village.  Our weather has been much better that Dallas and Fort Worth.  If you want to know what the weather is like here, follow us on Twitter at srfestival or just check the latest Twitter post below this blogge.
