April 8 & 9 – Opening Weekend/Travel Back in Time/Kid’s Free & Easter
Scarborough kicks off its 42nd season with special discounts for kids and seniors along with Easter celebrations!

- Kid’s Free – Kids 12 & Under get in Free all weekend! Up to 3 kids with each paid adult. Kids 4 & under are always free!
- Senior Discount – Seniors 65+ receive $10.00 off opening weekend 4/8/23 – 4/9/23. tickets at the Festival’s ticket office each day.
- Children’s Easter Scavenger Hunt – Hunt throughout the festival site (Saturday & Sunday) to win a free Ice Cream cup. Scavenger Hunt maps available at the Souvenir / Info Booth and also at the Exit Gate.
- Children’s Easter Egg Roll – Kids 12 & under are invited to participate in a traditional Easter Egg Roll to win great Scarborough prizes! 1:30 pm at the Royal Pavilion.
- Renaissance Easter Service – 12:00 noon at the Crown Meadow Stage (Sunday Only)
April 15 & 16 – Artisan’s Showcase Weekend & The Royal Wedding – ALL NEW!
Join us as we showcase the amazing Artisans and their crafts during the 9th Annual Artisan’s Showcase Weekend plus experience Scarborough’s very own Royal Wedding!
- Artisan’s Showcase On-Line Gallery – Vote for your favorite shoppe and get the chance to win a handmade basket filled with treasures from the Scarborough Artisans!
- Shop & Win Promotion – Spend $350 at the Festival shoppes and receive (2) Complimentary Tickets valid any day of the Scarborough Renaissance Festival 2023 season. Only purchases made this weekend qualify. Redeem your receipts at the Scarborough Tents just outside the Ticket Office from 12:00 noon – 8:00 pm
- The Royal Wedding – Join Scarborough as we celebrate the union of our beloved King Henry VIII and Catherine Parr in grand fashion with Royal Courts, Villagers, and Peasants alike! 1:30 pm at the Royal Pavilion each day.
April 22 & 23 – Viking & Ale Weekend
This weekend, come be a part of the Viking invasion and celebrate the greatest of libations – Ale!
- Adult’s & Children’s Viking Themed Costume Contests – Vikings and other barbarians are invited to join in the fun each day! Contests take place at the Royal Pavilion at 1:30 pm. (No registration required)
- Stein Holding Competition – See if you have what it takes to hold a beer stein longer than the rest to win your very own souvenir Scarborough Renaissance Festival stein! Contests take place at the Royal Pavilion each day at 3:30 pm (No registration required)
- Tug O’War! – Children & Adult Tug O’War competitions each day at the Maypole each day at 2:30 pm. (No registration required)
April 29 & April 30 – Live the Fantasy/Spring Celebration Weekend
Fantasy enthusiasts and Cosplay Fans – this weekend is just for you – Come live the Fantasy!
- Adult’s & Children’s Fantasy Themed Costume Contests – Contests take place at the Royal Pavilion each day.at 1:30 pm. (No registration required)
- Children’s Fairy Initiation Ceremony – Become a part of the Fairy Court at this fanciful ceremony and receive your very own Fairy Wand. 12 noon at the Royal Marquee each day.(No registration required)
- Spring Celebration! – Join in the fun with the Villagers of Scarborough as they celebrate celebrate May Day and the beginning of Spring by adorning themselves with beautiful flowers throughout the weekend.
- Deaf Day – Saturday, April 29th only. Special signed performances throughout the Festival site compliments of Hired Hands, Inc.
May 6 & 7 – Celtic Weekend
Unleash your inner Celt this Weekend while enjoying special Celtic performances and testing your fortitude in a number of themed competitions.
- Children’s Highland Games – Kids 12 & under are invited to participate in these age-old games of skill at the Royal Pavilion each day at 1:30 pm
- Scottish Egg Eating Contest – Bring your appetite to the Sea Hag Stage at 3:30pm. Register at the Exit gate each day to participate.
- Tug O’War! Children & Adult Tug O’War – Competitions each day at the Maypole at 2:30 pm.(No registration required)
- Bonnie Knees Contest – Men invited to show off who’s got the bonniest knees in Scarborough! 12:00 noon at the Royal Marquee. (No registration required)
- Special Celtic Entertainment – This weekend only! Traditional Irish step and ceili dancing performed by dancers from the Shandon-O’Regan Irish Dance Academy, Demonstrations from weapons demonstrations by the Victorian Fencing Society Shandon School of Irish Dancers on the Reveler’s Stage each day – see schedule for show times

May 13 & 14 – Celebrating Chivalry Weekend
It’s all about Chivalry & Romance this weekend at Scarborough Renaissance Festival along with a salute to Moms!
- Kid’s Free on Mother’s Day! – Up to 3 kids free with each paid adult, Mother’s Day May 14th. No child ticket required. (Sunday Only)
- Vow Renewal Ceremony – Couples are invited to join us to renew their wedding vows and commitments to each other each day at the Royal Marquee at 12:00 noon. (No registration required. Free with Festival admission)
- Chivalry Lessons with the Scarborough Knights! – Join the Knights of the Noble Cause at 3:00 pm each day at the Royal Marquee to learn how to treat others in a chivalrous manner. (No registration required)
- The Chocolate Sensations event will take you on a journey of discovering luscious chocolates and how they pair with your favorite beer & wine. It is the perfect complement to Celebrating Chivalry Weekend! Enjoy six samplings while being entertained by the wonderful musicians of Scarborough. Must be 21 or older to participate. May 20 & 21 – Legends of the Seas Weekend
The Legends of the Seas come alive at Scarborough Renaissance Festival this weekend!

- Adult’s & Children’s Legends of the Seas Costume Contests – Pirates, Mermaids, and all other manner of Sea Creatures are invited to join in the fun each day! Contests take place at the Royal Pavilion at 1:30 pm. (No Registration Required).
- Naval Enlistment Ceremony – See if you have what it takes to become a member of the Royal Navy in this interactive ceremony at the Royal Marquee each day at 12:00 noon. (No registration required)
May 27, 28, & 29 – The Last Huzzah
Come give one Last Huzzah as we close out our 42nd Season with a grand celebration over the 3 day Memorial Day Weekend with music, merriment, & magic throughout the village of Scarborough!
- Topsy Turvy Day – Queens become beggars and Villagers become Kings on this day of Topsy Turvy Sunday, May 28th Only! Join in the fun!
- Memorial Day Veterans Parade and Fallen Heroes Tribute – Monday, May 29th only. All active and retired military members are invited to receive a yellow sash to commemorate their service (at the Village Armoury) and are invited to march in the 1:00 pm Grand Parade. At the conclusion of the parade, we invite everyone to join us at the Royal Pavilion for the presentation of colors and a special Fallen Heroes tribute.
